We would like to thank Charles and
his Family for letting us do their first organized trail ride at The
Bolo Club. The Bolo Club has been and still is a hunting and fishing
club nestled in a big valley between 2 mountains along the foot
hills of the Cumberland mountains. The Bolo Club is an old family
farm and is located north of Stevenson, AL just across the TN line.
It is easy travel from Nashville, Birmingham, Huntsville, and
Chattanooga. It is less than 2 hours from most of these cities. As I
said, The Bolo Club is located in the Sinking Cove Valley and is
very easy driving. The club has a very nice shower house, 40
electrics, some are pull through, 55 stalls, dump station, a very
nice lodge that sleeps 8, Lucas house that sleeps 4, Barn crib that
sleeps 6-8, very nice pavilion, old rustic barn, uncovered paddocks,
historical museum, and unlimited primitive parking, and picketing.
This time of the year the weather should be comfortable and nice. As
you know, 40 electric and 55 stalls will fill up fast so if you
don’t get electric I hope you will still attend this ride and
primitive park down by the creek. This is a very special creek it
starts on the property along the trails we ride and continues
through this big valley. Oh by the way there is some of the best
creek fishing in TN here. This is a new and beautiful place. There
are almost 50 miles of trails. As we visited, George (Bolo Club
Trail Boss) was still cutting new trails, so by the time we get
there they will have even more miles of trails. The farm is over
4,000 acres plus they have access to neighboring property. The
trails will take you by old pig pens from the past, moonshine stills
( of course not working), bluff trails, Indian shelters, caves, a
creek, and the head of the creek where it starts from out of the
ground. This is mountain riding but there is riding for the beginner
to advanced. All reservations must be made through Americas Trail Ride. There is a $35.00 deposit for electric and $100.00 deposit for lodge, Lucas house, or Barn Crib. With limited parking the deposits are non-refundable. There is no deposit for primitive camping. Send deposits to Kenney Gladden @ P.O. Box 1373, Phila., MS 39350 or give him a call for more information @ 256-390-6366. As usual, a Negative Coggins is Required ! We will also have our meal tickets for sale or you can bring your own food. You also get 2 free meals, 2 dances, 4 guided rides, awards and prizes. |
